What I’m Grateful For: Rain
Last night it rained. Not very much, but the first rain that we have had in a long, long time.
There was enough rain that the smoke cleared out of the air, the dust settled and our ears rejoiced at the sound.
Mind you, there was also lightning, thunder and several new fires started.
But then to offset that, our evacuations were all lifted!
It was a crazy, tumultuous and rather confusing 24 hours, but I’ll take it. Fresh air and rain and the promise of crisp fall nights is on the way!
What I’m Reading: The One Thing by Gary Keller.
If someone asked me what my favorite book to give as a gift would be, this is it. It’s simple, beautiful, small and profound. I have read it many times, and each time it reorients me back to an internal center.
If you are floundering, in any area of your life, or if you are uncertain of your path…. If you feel paralyzed by indecision – or stymied by a project too big to sort out… this is the perfect book to read.
Has anyone out there read this? What do you think?
What I am Pondering: “The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls.”
