What I’m Grateful For: The Grind
Some days are harder than others to feel grateful. Today is like that for me. Everything feels like a grind – from leadership to client communication, to parenting, to taking care of home and hearth. It doesn’t feel good, I don’t feel inspired and nothing holds much appeal.
This is the grind. It’s where you put your head down and do what you said you’d do regardless of the fact you do NOT feel like it. And I’m grateful for it. I’ve been here before; I’ll be here again. There are days where you don’t feel like getting out of bed, much less like showing up as your most amazing self.
But the grind is where you find out who you really are and what you really can deliver. When you can show up, smile and do what needs to be done EVEN WHEN YOU LEAST FEEL UP TO IT….. that’s where the magic happens. That’s where things shift around you. Eventually, at least.
So today, I’m grateful for the grind.
What I’m Reading: Lately, I’ve been spending some time on a really excellent blog at https://fs.blog/blog/. Farnam Street is “…devoted to helping you develop an understanding of how the world really works, make better decisions, and live a better life. We address such topics as mental models, decision making, learning, reading, and the art of living.” I have thoroughly enjoyed pretty much every article on here, but here are a few recent favorites:
Quick Web Tip: We know it’s hard sometimes to trust outside advice. But what if that advice comes with top ratings from organizations such as the Better Business Bureau? Then we suggest you trust them! Always do your research to make sure the company you are working with is fair, trustworthy and legitimate – and if they are, ask them for advice and seriously consider doing whatever they suggest.
